In cold working environments, such as winter and cold storage rooms, you will quickly start to freeze without adapted workwear and protective clothing. If your feet are hypothermic, the frost moves through your entire body, which can weaken your immune system and make you more susceptible to illness, frostbite and inflammation. This is remedied not only by thick socks, but also by our NITRAS safety winter boots.
To keep you comfortable in cold temperatures, good winter safety boots ensure that your feet are kept warm inside the shoes for as long as possible. This is the case with all our NITRAS safety winter boots, as they meet the additional requirement CI. They have cold-insulating outsoles, which means that they do not cool down as quickly on the outside and the inside of the shoes stays warm for longer. To ensure that you are not only warm but also comfortable when carrying out your projects, our winter safety boots are equipped with a soft winter lining throughout the interior.
In addition to the pleasant warmth and comfort that our safety winter boots offer you, they also provide full protection. All NITRAS safety winter boots are certified according to EN ISO 20345 and correspond to category S3. The upper material made of robust grain leather withstands even severe weather conditions and reliably prevents water absorption in damp and wet working environments to keep your feet dry and the warmth inside the boot. Even on uneven or snow-covered surfaces, work can be done safely thanks to the solid profiled outsole. In addition, the high shaft of the safety winter boots supports a stable stance and minimises possible accidents, such as quick twisting of the ankle. The resistance to punctures reliably prevents pointed and sharp objects from passing through. In addition, the winter safety boots of category S3 also have the requirements of categories S1 and S2. These include a toe protection cap, slip-resistant as well as antistatic properties, a closed heel area and an oil and petrol resistant outsole. What are variants of safety winter boots from NITRAS?
Our NITRAS winter safety boots are unisex and can be worn by both men and women. The size spectrum ranges from shoe size 38-48. With our premium variant 7213W // POWER STEP MID+ W even from 36-50. All our safety winter boots have laces, with which you can individually adjust the boots to your feet and support a firm footing, no matter what the surface. The shaft is either mid-high or high, depending on the boot and your preference. A high shaft offers particularly effective protection for your ankles.
Just like all other safety footwear, winter safety boots are available in a metal-free version. These shoes include our 7201W MF // STEP MID+ MF W and 7301W // SPORT STEP MID W. Metal-free safety shoes are generally lighter and more flexible than metal-containing safety shoes and are also hardly thermally conductive, which means they store heat better and thus have a cold-insulating protective effect. The puncture-resistant midsoles of metal-free safety footwear cover a larger area of the foot and also serve as a covering insole, but are more influenced by the shape of sharp objects (e.g. diameter, geometry, sharpness). This is not the case with puncture-resistant midsoles made of metal, so they offer a particularly high level of protection. It should be noted here that only a smaller area of the foot can be protected due to the design. In work areas where more robust footwear is required and work is done permanently in outdoor areas, safety shoes with toe caps and midsoles made of metal are recommended. These are used, for example, for winter road maintenance. Metal-free safety shoes are mainly used in indoor areas, e.g. cold storage rooms, due to their properties.
Our 7213W // POWER STEP MID+ W is certified according to DGUV rule 112-191. It can be fitted with orthopaedic insocks that are customised to your feet and the tested properties of safety shoes are still maintained. Our local orthopaedic shoemakers (Schuhhaus Kreuels and Ortho-top) will help you to make insocks adapted to your feet. In cooperation with our partner company Matthias Hartmann Orthopädie + Sport, individual and high-quality SECOSOL® insocks are then provided for you. Well-fitted orthopaedic insocks can have a positive effect on muscle function, gait and posture through targeted use. So you can go about your work relaxed, healthy and well warmed.
